Features
Everything it does, in one list
No feature-gating theatre. This is the whole of SmartAI POS, with the three Pro items marked where they sit. If something isn’t listed here, we haven’t built it.
At the counter
Taking the money
- Product gridTouch layout by category, built for a shift’s worth of muscle memory
- ModifiersThe choices staff get asked for — no pickle, oat milk, extra shot
- VariantsOne product in sizes or versions without cloning it six times
- Open itemsSell something with no product record, at a price you type in
- CombosMeal deals that price themselves
- Split billsBy item or evenly, across as many payments as you need
- TipsOn the terminal or on the till
- DiscountsOrder and item level, with manager approval if you require it
- Refunds and voidsBoth recorded against the original sale, both audited
- Order notesFree text that follows the order to the kitchen
- Card terminalsPaired like a printer. Falls back to manual so selling never blocks
- Register disciplineDeclared float, no-sale reasons, drawer count against takings
All of the above works with no internet connection — see how offline selling works.
Service
Getting it to the customer
- Kitchen screensTickets routed to the right screen by category — the grill doesn’t get the coffee
- Kitchen printersSame routing rules, for sites that still want paper
- Customer displayThe order as it’s rung up, on a second screen
- Promo slidesYour own images on the display between orders
- Digital receiptsA QR receipt instead of paper
- Guest QR orderingCustomers order from their own phone at the table
- Online menu controlChoose what sells online, and at what price
- ChecklistsOpening, closing and end-of-shift tasks, ticked on the till
Back office
Behind the counter
The SmartAI POS back office runs on the same data as the till. There is no nightly export, no reconciliation step, and no second system to keep in step.
- CatalogueProducts, categories, modifiers, tax rates, barcodes, CSV import and export
- RepriceMove the whole menu in one screen
- StockUpdated by every sale; receives, vendors, purchase orders
- RecipesWhat a dish actually costs, and what waste is costing you
- CustomersHistory, segments, spend
- ReportsCOGS, labour vs sales, customer spend, emailed on a schedule
- Audit logEvery change, who made it, and when
- DevicesTills, printers, KDS screens, terminals — all paired in one place
Staff
Hours and people
- Time clockClock in and out on the till, with PINs and roles
- Phone clock-inThrough the Team app, if you switch it on
- CorrectionsFix a mis-punched clock-in without editing a database
- Labour summaryHours against takings, so you can see the ratio during the week
- Roles and permissionsWho can discount, refund, open the drawer, change a price
- Rostering — ProWeek grid, copy last week, staff roster link, roster against actual
On Pro
What sits behind the Pro plan, and why?
Three things, for two reasons: one has a real per-use cost to run, and two are things only bigger operators ask for.
- AI invoice scanPhotograph a supplier invoice and it reads the lines instead of you typing them. Costs us money per scan, so it sits on Pro
- LoyaltyPoints or punch card. Earning and balances are live; redemption is still in progress, and the pricing page says the same
- RosteringWeek grid and roster-vs-actual. Single-site operators rarely need it
Everything else is on both plans. A plan problem must never stop you taking money — so sales, refunds, offline, kitchen screens and card payments are never gated. See the comparison.
